Upcycling tips for beginners

Being creative is great for mental health, as well as fun!

Upcycling furniture is a fab way to make beautiful things for your home, or even to sell!

Our blog and social media pages are full of inspirational pieces, but for those beginners out there, here are a few of our favourite tips! Feel free to message us if you have any questions, and we will try to help!

💚 Tip 1: Don't stress! Its just paint! If you hate it when it's done, just paint over it!

💚 Tip 2: Start small! Maybe a Welsh dresser isn't the best piece to start with, a bedside table or chair might be less daunting

💚 Tip 3: Clean it! Cleaning your furniture befire painting will make the paint adhere better, and give you the best finish

💚 Tip 4: Prep! A light sand will give you the best adhesion, remove any imperfections and therefore give the best finish. A primer isn't usually necessary but will give a more professional finish

💚 Tip 5: Make it last! A top coat of wax or varnish will protect your masterpiece for years to come!
