Top Three Mistakes When Upcycling

We get lots of questions on how to get started with upcycling, so here are top three mistakes we see people make!

1️⃣ starting too big! Never painted furniture before? Maybe don't tackle a full dining set as your first project as you'll just get demotivated! Lamps, bedside tables, frames etc are all great projects to practice and play with!

2️⃣ not cleaning your piece. Any dust, dirt, loose paint etc needs to be cleaned up before getting the paint brush out. We know it's not the fun bit, but trust us, your finished piece will look so much better, and last longer with a bit of prep!

3️⃣ not removing hardware! Remove handles, hinges and so on BEFORE painting, and you'll get a nicer finish and not have to scrape paint off your handles!
