Meet the Stockist : Bristol Waste

We interviewed Joanne Dainton, Reuse Coordinator for Bristol Waste

Tell us about your organisation:

A brand-new shop has at Avonmouth Recycling Centre (Kings Weston Lane, BS11 0YS), filled with low cost goods, from TVs to toys and furniture to vacuums - all diverted from the waste stream!

The store, which is the first of its kind for Bristol Waste, is open Monday – Friday between 10am and 3pm. All items for sale have been saved from going to waste, with the income generated used to fund and further develop the company’s reuse work, and a percentage donated to local charities.

Why do you stock ReColour?

ReColour is a great example of the circular economy in action – giving waste paint a new lease of life! We love stocking ReColour to give people the opportunity to buy a fully recycled product.

What is your favourite ReColour colour?

Heavenly Horizon

What else do you stock?

Just about everything you can imagine in a house! We have a DIY section with tiles and paint as well as electronics including TVs, vacuums and sound systems. We also sell wooden and upholstered furniture and a wide selection of crockery and kitchen items.

Do you enjoy decorating and/or upcycling?

Yes, it’s great to give items a new lease of life and a change of style through something as simple as painting or varnishing.
